You are voting with your Margaritas and the votes are coming in FAST and FURIOUSLY. Here’s the tally:
The No Pain McCain Margarita: 159
Oh My! Obama-Rita: 104
Ouch.
That’s lot of margaritas sold since October 3. Add the fact that you can’t sell one between 2pm and 7pm since a happy hour Margarita is only $2.50 and it’s pretty amazing.
There have been many requests for an opportunity to vote for someone else. So as of today, we’re introducing the Bob Barrgarita. It’s availabe now for those who don’t want to cast their votes for the other two. Could this be a spoiler for one or the other? We’ll have to wait and see. Two weeks until the election is over and McCain has a HUGE lead. Could the Bob Barrgarita slow down the McCain margarita and give the Obamas a chance to catch up? Could it put a nail in the coffin of the Obama campaign? Where is Ross Perot when you need him????
I had a customer who wanted to buy 20 Obama-Ritas to catch him up (this was a week ago, obviously)–which I absolutely agree is a good way to win this contest. This is one election that will be bought!!
A few of the more fun things going on here at the Lu: The $10 taco is kicking it. Filet Mignon, seasoned and grilled to perfection–it’s a great taco, and no, it’s not really $10, it’s only $4.99, but IT SHOULD be ten bucks. Our first weekend opening at 10 am was great! Thanks to all of you who came in early for Huevos Rancheros (look Kathy, no J!!), huevos divorciados, chorizo and eggs and the Don Patrol (basically an open faced quesadilla with ALL the breakfast we got on it!!). It was a lot of fun to see you all so bright and early. See you this weekend, same time!
TEQUILA NEWS: I just added Don Julio 1942 to our Tequila list. I think it’s best as an after dinner drink, served neat in a brandy snifter for sipping and enjoying as you would a cognac or port wine. SO DELICIOUS!!! At $19 per shot it had better be. It’s arguably the best Tequila I have to offer, eclipsing the Casa Noble Anejo–aged 5 years in Jack Daniels barrels–at $16 per shot!
On to more important things. We are closed on Mondays, and the best reason I can think of for closing is this: Last night I got to sit down with Henry, Lucy and Deb for a real family dinner. It has been far too long. I was starving–ready to eat some Spaghetti when Henry said he thought we should say Grace before eating. So I swallowed my first bite and Lucy went first. Her little prayer was cute. It was pretty much what they say at her school. Henry began by thanking God for his Mom and Dad, for the food we were about to eat and then he looked at me and Deb (I can’t help but watch them both do this) and said, and for all our TacoLu customers!
What a great little marketer he is! Talk about starting at the top…
