When life deals you limes, make margaritas!

I called Barack Obama. I called John McCain. I needed to know what kind of Margarita they each like. It’s really a tough time to try to get a hold of either of those guys so I just sat down took a deep breath and asked Lacie to create two margaritas that represent the candidates for me!

The Election begins here at TacoLu this Friday. From October 3rd until November 3rd, come to TacoLu and cast your vote for your favorite candidate!! My MDT (Margarita Devlopment Team), which consists of, well, pretty much just Lacie P, created the “Oh My! ObamaRita” and the “No Pain McCain Margarita“. To cast your vote, you just order the Margarita named for your candidate.

The McCain Margarita is a Sauza ‘Aged’ Anejo Tequila, our own homemade sour mix with a splash of Cointreau, while the ObamaRita is a quite-a-bit younger Tequila–a Sauza Reposado with our homemade sour mix and a splash of Cointreau. Each Margarita is only $7.

Here’s the October Surprise: Both get the Top-Shelf treatment with a Grand Marnier floater! Can’t beat that!

They both are great margaritas, the only difference between the two is the Tequila. If I made them too different, it could easily skew the results! For instance, if the McCain Margarita was a pomegranite margarita, and a pomegranite margarita was Lori Gag’s favorite margarita of all-time, she’d never get her favorite margarita because she’d NEVER vote for any Republican–regardless of the delicious Pomegranite flavor!! And likewise, if Chad really loved that margarita, but didn’t care about the voting, then the results would then be skewed and Chad would leave us hanging…
