So I’m at home on Tuesday afternoon with Henry and Lucy, watching (to my wife’s HORROR) “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure”. Why, you might ask, was Debbie so horrified? Well, let’s just leave it at this: she was working at the Lu, and mostly, she hasn’t seen it in a long time. I told her it’s like a 90 minute history lesson–in more ways than one! You get the whole premise of the movie: Bill and Ted have to ACE their final presentation by researching historical characters (“

Do you know where there are any personages of historical significance around here?”) and deciding what those people would think of San Dimas, CA, circa 1988 (This is a dude who, 700 years ago, totally ravaged China, and who, we were told, 2 hours ago, totally ravaged Oshman’s Sporting Goods.) . Unlike EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO WORKS AT TACOLU, I remember 1988–FONDLY! Most of our staff wasn’t even born yet… So there is the second “historical lesson” for Hen and Lu: Yes, Dad tight-rolled his jeans and TOTALLY wanted an orange denim jacket (I still do, frankly).

I’m trying to perfect the Lobster Taco. It’s not easy–I’ve had to eat about 30 already and I still don’t have one I want to make for you, the Ever Lovin’ TacoLu Faithful! If anyone has a favorite, I’d like to hear it.
